I found this place on Yelp when I was looking for something different while traveling through Illinois. I drove just a few miles off the interstate exit to get here, and it was well worth it. Employees were very friendly, and the food was good. I especially enjoyed the cinnamon bread. I ordered my food to go, and it was well packaged. Servings are very generous and prices are reasonable. Highly recommend a stop here if you are traveling in the area.

I worked for Tony and Marybeth back in 1984 I was 17, my first job. We always stop in to eat when we are in town from Florida. This time we were on our way to Iowa to our youngest daughter Wedding. When family found out we were driving through Decatur just to eat at La Gondolas we had a list of food to get for the bride and family. We absolutely love the food. Thank you Tony for the wonder service and EXTRA care we received. Looking forward to the hot cinnamon bread tomorrow. See ya again in 6 months.

The location and the drive thru / fast food environment seems at odds with the fact that the food is surprisingly good.
This is one of the restaurants out of state family wants to visit every time they come back in town. It's a local staple. We love the ravioli, pizza bread, and cinnamon bread.
